♣♣♣♣

A Demon Bound is a freebie from Amazon that I picked up a while ago.  I finally pulled it off my shelf to read and really glad I did.  This is a Dark Urban Fantasy.  The heroine is a demon. She is not a nice person for the most part, but seems to be influenced from her time spent on Earth.  She has the hots for her neighbor, Wyatt, who she has been pursuing for two years with no luck.  Her time on Earth is possibly cut short after she is presumably discovered by the Angel Gregory.  This all happens at the same time that a vengeful Angel is killing Werewolves.

I really liked most of the characters.  I didn’t really read the blurb for this before I read it.  So, when the Angel Gregory shows up so late in the book, I was surprised at the turn they were going with this. The power struggle back and forth with Gregory is quite good. However, the best part of this book is the heroine.  She is take charge, unapologetic and it’s really funny at times.  I think most books with this type of a character always paints them in a light of good or redemptive personality, but this is not the case.  She’s anti-heroine actually.  Very good.

Book Blurb:

Samantha Martin is an imp, enjoying an extended vacation from Hel. All she wants to do is drink beer by the pool, play mischievous pranks on the humans, and get her hot neighbor in the sack. It’s a relaxing break from her infernal home, as long as she manages to avoid the angels, who won’t hesitate to execute her on sight.

But when her naughty hellhound lands her in trouble with the local werewolf pack, Sam is blackmailed into helping track and catch a killer. The steps she must take to appease the werewolves will put her right in the crosshairs of the angels. And with angels, there is no second chance.
